[ Gareth hurries in, and from his sweater, pulls out a kitten, who happens to be purring and perfectly healthy, despite looking like a small goblin. ]

I think he must have some kind of disease that makes cats lose their fur? And his skin is kind of...weird and oily.

[It's purring. That's generally a good sign, but Anders picks up the kitten anyway and gently starts examining it, starting with its eyes and ears and moving on to probing with a gentle thumb to find any injured areas. As he looks it over, he's talking quietly to the little one until he stops and looks over at Gareth.]

It... may be that it isn't supposed to have fur?

[Nugs survive without fur. Maybe this is some breed that doesn't need it, somehow.]

Because I'm not seeing any more signs of distress than the usual reaction when something big is manhandling it, its eyes are clear, and it's purring. There's no sound of breathing issues either, no sign of pain.

[Anders holds the kitten back out.]

But it is small, and it will need someone to look after it. Someone who doesn't already have two cats.

But it's a cat, how is it not supposed to have fur. Maybe someone shaved it? [ He squints at the kitten, but there's nothing that would indicate shaving, and--he imagines it wouldn't be easy to shave a kitten, really. ]

But...I guess if it's healthy, that'sall that matters. But--[ He falters when Anders mentions it'll need someone. ]--I mean, I don't know how take care of a cat. I've never taken care of anything, except me. And that is debatable.
