[ Someone sounds a hideous combination of sleepless and drunk. ]
You know... things about herbs and magic, right? Being all smart and stuff. Is there a potion or spell that helps you push bad thoughts really far, far, faaaar away?
There are... There are things that will fog the mind, but they're not good for long-term use. They can lead to forgetfulness, clumsiness, a great difficulty focusing even when you're not actively using them, and the like. On the other hand, there are herbal blends that can aid with sleep, and even a sleep spell. I can do the blending; you'd need someone who isn't a healer or isn't a strong healer for the spell.
...On the third hand, assuming that one can have three hands, some find talking and discussing more helpful to get rid of the thoughts.
Mm... that sounds annoying. I'm already clumsy enough without some fancy herb making it worse but I've tried things for sleeping. Didn't work because you know what's worse than thinking bad things? [ She pauses for a beat but whether Ciri paused to give him the chance to answer or because she needs to pause is up for debate. ] Dreaming about bad things. It's just bloody awful.
... Heh. If anyone had a third hand, I could see it being you but you'd truly listen to me ramble about thoughts of mine?
I can fix something for a dreamless sleep as well, but yes. I'd be willing to listen to you ramble. I've heard, and thought, a great many things. I can listen to more.
I mentioned before what we found in the Anderfels, yes? The Wardens and darkspawn that had been infected with red lyrium. I couldn't help wondering just what the purpose of doing something like that...
But then I remembered our mission before to Emprise du Lion and that cave which began to bother me even more.
Tell me about it. They were harvesting red lyrium from those people down there but we caught on because of the large number of disappearances. What if they decide to harvest it from darkspawn instead? They could harvest their red lyrium and we wouldn't be any the wiser because it's a safer alternative.
[ She huffs. ] Not that I'm complaining about the darkspawn being used but I can't see them rummaging around in the Deep Roads and wrangling them up. Just imagine if they could turn an infected Warden into a broodmother and spawn already infected darkspawn.
... They'd have this steady supply and wouldn't have to waste it repeatedly infecting individuals.
I can't tell if you're a fan of this idea or not. I'd personally prefer they have no means of gathering red lyrium, but it spreads and there doesn't seem to be a way to completely destroy it.
[He sighs.]
It's not going to stop spreading or be limited. And the sorts that go to harvest it... It's only going to go worse as time goes on.
[Nathaniel kisses Anders as loudly as he must to convey he is entirely unashamed. He is looking forward to this.] We could get started out here, [he murmurs playfully.] I could get you worked up for Zevran.
Ah, young love. [ Insert exasperated (though fond) eyerolling here. He urges both wardens along without much commentary as to what ought to be done when- boundaries have been established (to a point) and fun is to be had. What more could he wish for?
He does take his time, once they're inside the room and locked safely away from prying eyes, to lean back and watch them for a long moment, brows lifted. ]
[Zevran gets a flash of an amused look for the 'young' comment... and only that flash because Nate is kissing Anders and Zevran is watching. This is an excellent start. Anders moves his hands to Nate's waist before kissing him back hungrily. Nate doesn't have much work to do, really, and the groan Anders makes into the kiss says as much.
Part of the way into the kiss his hands shift, searching for the fastenings on Nate's tunic to start getting it open. Everyone has far too much clothing on, in his expert opinion.]
[There's a faint blush on Nathaniel's cheeks when things start to happen while they have an audience. There's also a thrill to know that this time, it's meant to be like that. His breathing is ragged by the time Anders works open his tunic. And when they part at last, Nathaniel's gaze turns to Zevran.
In a moment, his hand is reaching for Zevran's to draw him closer, a very courtly gesture. He leans in close enough to give him the idea, but not close enough to kiss yet.]
May I kiss you? [he asks, voice low and husky already.]
[ It's...decidedly odd, being asked. Humans take as is their due. That is how Zevran knows them to be, permission to his person once offered is taken to the fullest extent without middling conversation. Assumptions are made and he's never truly been one to complain but-
Nate asks and that is. Odd. But not so much to throw him off balance. He cants his head back, letting his hair (left loose for this very reason) trail over his shoulder and frame his face and throat in a way he was told was enticing, and quirks a brow. ]
[He's still got his hands on Nate, working off the tunic, but his eyes go to Zevran. The fall of hair is gorgeous... which is really only to be expected, and it's as gorgeous as Nate being, well, Nate.]
Please.
[It's a threesome for a reason.]
I told Nate once how gorgeous it was when you two kissed before. I'd love to see it again.
[Nathaniel leans in to claim Zevran's mouth, finally, allowing himself to want at long last. He doesn't need Zevran the way he needs Anders, no, but isn't it delightful to have such a surplus of affection that he can take what he wants as well as what he needs? And Zevran is someone extraordinary. Adventurer and lover, committer of crime and savior of the world.
When the kiss ends, Nathaniel punctuates it with a smaller one before pulling away slowly, allowing the scent of him to linger and fade in its proper course. Rather like wine, really.]

crystal, backdated to before alistair & anders' excellent adventure
[ He's — angrier than he's been in a long time, than he's let himself be in a long time. It's tiring. So is thinking about Anders, and the things that Korrin's said he's done.
Alan doesn't doubt Korrin. There's no one at Skyhold he trusts more. But he's trying to square the idea of Anders, and Anders' ideas, and that's something that he needs to come to his own decision on. So when he finally speaks, after the background scuffle of stones and wind, it's calm: ]
Hello. We've spoken before, about the idea of schools. Classes. It's, [ Has he given a name? He honestly can't remember. ] Alan.
You mentioned needing instructors, assistance. I'd like to help. With the non-mages. I don't know how much I can offer to the others, but, the Winter Ball's had me thinking.
[ More than he'd care for. ]
It takes more than people to do this, right? Supplies. Books. Paper, pens. For some of it, anyway. Knives, flint. How are you going to get that?
[While he's not about to think that for once maybe the Maker's heard one of his prayers, he won't bother hiding the gratitude in his voice.]
I'd appreciate the help, greatly, and the plan was generally to scavenge. See what people didn't need or could bring.
We've one source of light funding at the moment, but when it's gained momentum I was hoping to seek others. If you've connections for those sorts of supplies, though, it would be invaluable.
I don't. [ His voice stays quiet, steady — but there's the faintest hint of intent to it now. ] Not the kind that people would approve of anyway, and it'll need that.
As little as I like it, has anyone approached the Chantry?
[ Anders, specifically, really shouldn't. But there are others involved. ]
I've spoken with a Templar who seems to treat mages as people, and he's interested in assisting, but I've little interest in reaching out further. Mages having schools and options will not help the Chantry restore its powerbase when Corypheus is gone, so I can't help but feel they'd seek ways of crippling the effort.
[Anders exhales.]
I don't want to risk crippling this. It's too important.
TWO WEEKS LATER.........feel free to drop this if it's been too long!
[ A whole lot of falsehoods, sure, but also math and language. ]
They trust it. Associating it a little with one of them who listens, one of them who's safe enough... Even if you limit talk to the non-magic lessons. Things like what herbs are good, how to help themselves. When people see a wider world, they let in room for more opinions.
I don't mind speaking to Templars, but this is your project. I won't mention it without your leave.
